European Qualifications & Competences for the Vegan Food Industry

The EQVEGAN project, funded by the European Commission’s Sector Skills Alliance Programme, aims to address skills gaps in the evolving food industry. Focused on the growing demand for plant-based diets and increased sustainability requirements, EQVEGAN aims to adapt the vegan food industry to Industry 4.0 standards. The project, involving 15 institutions from 11 countries, plans to design innovative training programs in seven languages for professionals and students across EQF levels 4 to 7. By utilizing EU quality tools, the Alliance seeks to accelerate the sector’s qualified growth. Additionally, EQVEGAN aims to establish a Skills Portal, including databases and certification schemes, promoting trans-national mobility and creating a significant impact on the EU food industry.
